Skiiing
Although a beginners paradise, there are runs to suit intermediates, advanced and expert skiers. The runs are maintained to the highest international standards and have multilingual signs. The Borovets Ski School is renowned as one the best in Bulgaria with around 200 ski instructors fluent in many different languages.

Snowboarding
Snowboarding in Borovets is extremely popular. With an impressive snow record, the area has all types of runs from easy greens to steeper red and black runs for the more technical riders. There is a huge potential for free riding with easily accessible powder and for freestyle riders there is a snowpark with a half pipe, a few kickers and rails.

Snowmobiles
Snowmobiles or ski-doos are a fun option for winter sports enthusiasts. These can be hired in Borovets and driven around the spectacular Rila Mountains.

Hunting
Expert guides are available for hunting expeditions in and around the Rila mountains.

Children
There is a Nursery for children aged 1-4 located in Hotel Rila and open between 08.00-17.00 and 19.00-07.00. Prices (approx.) are from £10 per half day.
The Ski kindergarten is available for children aged 4-7 years and is located a few minutes walk away from the Hotel Rila. It is open 7 days a week between 8.30 am - 4.30 pm. Prices (approx £80 for 6 days) include: supervision, ski pack (skis, sticks, boots), daily tuition (2 hours - full days; 1 hour - half days), lunch (full days only), games, sweets, tea.

Hiking
As the mountains are unspoilt, the region is perfect for a hiking holiday. Expert guides are available for hiking expeditions.

Fishing
Well stocked lakes and unpolluted rivers offer some of the best fresh water fishing in Europe.

Biking
Mountain bikes are readily available for those who wish to experience the mountain bike trails.

Quad Biking
Quad biking is an adrenaline generating activity as well as a fun way to discover and enjoy the magnificent Bulgarian countryside.

Sailing
The magnificent Bulgarian mountain lakes have sailing facilities for the novice through to the experienced sailor. Lake Iskar is a large lake with all water sports facilities. It is only 20 minute drive away from Borovets.

Horse-riding
Whether you an experienced rider or a beginner, Bulgaria has superb stables with excellent riding schools. You will be able to ride in the Rila mountain around Borovets and enjoy superb views, picturesque paths and easy terrain.

Golf
Within 20-30 minute drive from Borovets there is the highly regarded Ihtiman golf course (Golf Club Air Sofia). The Golf Course is rated by the rating committee of USGA. The course have 18 holes, his rating is 71,3 and slope 131 from the white tees (Green fee is approx. £18 Mon-Fri, £25 Sat-Sun - 2008 prices). An other golf course is to be built near Borovets in 2009.
